Simple CASE

2008-06-22Sorry for today’s crappy picture, I’m not feeling too well and the day is cloudy, so lighting is really sucky right now :(

This card is a case of one Debbie Olson made for the latest PTI release, I inspired on her sketch and colors.

The bird is colored with a G00 COPIC marker (which is the closest to Soft Sky I’ve found) and I also added some flock to the trail dots and the wings… fun! and I totally love the texture :)

I was going to hang a small sentiment from the ribbon with some thread, but I decided it’d be better to leave it as an “all ocassion” card, lol.

Everything else is much self-explanatory so I’ll leave you with the supply list

Stamps: Decorative Birds (Hero Arts), Little Lady (Papertrey Ink), Polka Dot background (SU!).
Inks: Palette Burnt Umber, Soft Sky classic (SU!)
Papers: Light brown textured opaline, white cardstock, Soft Sky cardstock (SU!)
Misc: brown and white crushed velvet flock (Doodlebug Designs), ZIG Squeeze&Roll 2 way glue (EK Success), medium corner rounder (EK Success), polka dot satin ribbon (American Crafts).

PS: Check out the BIG sale at Stampin’ Treasures, there are stamps as low as $1 and sets for $5! I’m definetely not being paid for the ad, I’m just a very very happy customer! :)

ETA: I uploaded a new picture… MUCH better! I also painted the wings and made the dot trail a lot more visible. Love it :)

Simple birds

2008-06-08Finally, the strike/take over/asdf at my university ended! After a whole month of doing nothing… I’m going back to classes! (figures, I never though I’d be so happy to have classes again, lol).

So, for today I have a simple card to share before all the academic madness starts. I tried to follow Beate’s latest sketch challenge, but in the end I decided I didn’t want to cover the pretty patterned paper, which I enhanced with glitter and a glue pen. It’s not really that visible here, but if you click on the image it’ll take you to a bigger version on Flickr :)

So, I have to say that, while glitter is very fun… is also very messy! I ended up having glitter all over my desk, lol. I’m glad I don’t have carpet on my stamping-place.

And I finally figured out hotw to use Photoshop Elements frames, lol. I had been wanting to use them for closeup pictures but I never had a lot of success until today… and it was a really dumb thing, lol.

That’s all for today… thanks for visiting and I hope to see you soon! :)

Papers: “Aerial” paper pack (Memory Box), Soft Sky cardstock (Stampin Up!), K&Co. patterned paper.
Misc: Prisma glitter (Hero Arts), Zig 2 way glue pen (EK Success), scalloped edge scissor, medium corner rounder (EK Succes).

Simple Heart

2008-03-09

Well, it’s still Sunday in my corner of the world :) I made this card quickly, this time all supplies are by SU!

For the heart image I used the “rock n’ roll” technique in both blue and green ink. LOVE this technique, it’s so easy to make something beautiful with it.

The “berries” are stamped with white chalk ink which I also used for distressing the edges. Well, since the rest is really self-explanatory I’ll leave you with the supply list. Tomorrow is first day at school so I’ll see if I can get some time to post. See ya then!

Stamps: “Always” set and Polka Dot background (Stampin Up!).
Inks: Blue Bayou and River Rock classic ink (Stampin Up!), Versamagic Cloud White (Tsukineko).
Papers: Blue Bayou and River Rock cardstock (Stampin Up!), white cardstock (misc).
Misc: River Rock stitched ribbon (SU!), medium corner rounder (EK Sucess).

Simple thanks

2008-02-03I had forgot this category, lol. I guess its because all of my card have been very into the simple side. I’m not a girl of many layers, you could say :)

Today’s card is inspired on this one by Kristima Werner (can you say “idol”? I love her work!) and working with the same colors. I love finding a weekly “theme” it makes things come out easier :)

Also I used the ribbon Lauren sent me on her RAK. I totally lvoed the ribbon and I’ll be looking for something similar here locally, I hope it is ok for me to use it, or is it a big no-no?

Anyway, to get the “kind” stamp somewhat aligned I used a little tool Claudio made for me, which is like a Stamp-a-whatever but it’s made from wood (and has my named and a rose carved on it, he’s so cute ♥). I’m not a total expert using it, as you can see, but I’m getting there :)

The circle was cut freehand by my sister, because I can’t cut a decent circle to save my life, lol. But, fear not, for I have a Coluzzle in order, yay! :) And I took a decent picture of a vertical card, more yay! (I’ve always had problems with this kind of cards… I so prefer landscape types).

Oh yeah, and I did went out with Claudio for dinner at T.G.I Friday’s! (I wonder what the “tgi” means, lolz). I uploaded some pictures on my Flickr, but I’ll leave you the thumbnails here. Would you believe these pictures were taken between 8pm and 10pm? I totally love my camera :)

Hmm.... (by kuroba) Say Cheese! (by kuroba) Cropped (by kuroba) Taken by the waitress (by kuroba)

And that’s it for today, take care everyone and have a happy sunday! :)

Estivalia ♥

Papers: Groovy Guava and Purely Pomegranate cardstock (Stampin Up!), white cardstock
Stamps: “Baroque Motifs” (Stampin Up!)
Inks: Groovy Guava and Purely Pomegranate classic inks (Stampin Up!)
Misc: scalloped edge decorative scissor, Signo white gel pen (Uni-ball), white wide satin ribbon, GellyRoll Stardust Clear gel pen (Sakura).

An epilogue of some sort

2008-01-20They say all good things come to an end, and this Sunday did arrive fast. I had a lot of fun using this papers, and the bright side is now I have some cards ready to be addressed and sent to the OSA ladies (I already sent my January RAKs btw ;).

Today’s card is a really simple design. I guess all sunday cards will be, because I really prefer to be resting, watching T.V or just spending time with my fiancé that in my craft room. We all need simple easy quick cards sometimes too. So, Simple Sunday it is.

I saw this cardmap (by Pagemaps, Sept. 06) and realized it’d be a really nice way to use up some scraps of the papers I used for this week’s card and would work as an epilogue of some sorts (therefore, the title).

So I cut strips of paper, ranging from 3/8″ to 1/2″ in width and the length is more random, cut the ends in a diagonal way and adhered to the card, which is a standard sized card made with white textured background. Today I wanted to stamp my sentiment rather than print it, so I grabbed a retired set from SU! and some masking and there, a small pretty sentiment in black ink. There’s nothing much to say about it, so see ya tomorrow :)

Papers: White textured cardstock, “Far East” 8×8 stack (DCWV)
Stamps: “Gently Fallin” (Stampin Up - retired)
Inks: Jet Black Staz-On (Tsukineko)
