A question and some enabling

Hi people! :) No project today, sorry! I am currently trying to catch up on my classes while I have some “spare time” because of the strike.

I do want to ask you something. I saw this Crushed Velvet flock assortment by Doodlebug recently on 2peas and I really really want to try it. Problem is, this site doesn’t sell anything to use the flock with. I know this may not sound like a real problem, but I’d really like to pay only once for shipping and not have to wait between I have the flock and something to use it with :p

If you know a site that carries this flock set and the Tsukineko Gluepad, can you please please tell me? either comment on here or drop me a line to estivalia.correa[@]gmail.com, no brackets :)

Also, Patty sent me a link to the new stuff at Impress Rubber Stamps because she saw a stamp set that reminded her of me! You can’t imagine how happy makes me when someone says that, it makes me feel really special to know that someone on the other side of the world has been thinking of me, hee hee *blushes*

Besides the mentioned stamps set I found a thing or two I’d like to get too ;) It’s so hard to be a stamper, so many stuff and so little $$$! (which ends in tough decisions!)

I love Impress Rubber Stamps, but I’m not really sure if they’ll ship outside U.S or how much it’d cost, ugh (please note I have no affiliation with Impress or 2peas… I wish, lol!)

So… think of this as my “weekly enabler post” :p Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be back tomorrow with a new project, take care and please don’t forget to write if you know about the flock + gluepad, thanks! :)

Pastel Polka Dots

2008-03-06

Today was ultra-super Happy Mail Day! :D I got the Crop-a-Dile I bought from eBay and…. an awesome box full of goodies sent to me by Laura!! (we were actually a little worried it had gone lost, so it was a “fangirl” attack when I got it this morning!).

Anyway, I played with my new goodies but I had actually started this card yesterday, that’s why there are no new goodies in it -but soon! lol.

So, this is my entry for Mojo Monday #27, I just fliped the layout horizontally. It’s Mojo Madness people, so get your entries done!! I’m not very convinced about mine, so I’ll try again tomorrow.

Also, I found out my crappy embossing was not the fault of my nearly-dried Versamark. I’ve always had problems with the coverage of images but yesterday I tried several times and it was the same thing again… even though I just refilled my pad! So, I’m assuming it’s my embossing powder. Probably, I don’t even know what brand it is (I got it in a trade, and came in a plastic baggie). So, I’m getting that next.

I added some Stardust Stickles to the polka dots on the ladybug… extra sparkly, yum! I also added some spark to the ladybug path with other clear glitter pen.

I wanted to try and mix black with some pastel colors. I think I didn’t fail so terribly :)

Hero Arts meets Memory Box

2008-02-29

Today was happy mail day, I got my goodies from Stampin’ Treasures. I can’t begin to say how much I LOVE that store. They had most of the things I wanted and what they did not, Diane was kind enough to special order it for me. Amazing customer service, I tell you, and very good shipping rates :)

I’m very happy for this store’s service because it’s been a rough week for me, as an international stamper. A few days ago I wrote to eP to ask for some items they had on sale and they replied that they are no longer taking international orders (which disappointed me a little, I had my eyes on some stuff). Then, yesterday (or was it the day before?) PapertreyInk announced that they’ll only offer insured/certified mail, doubling the shipping costs for their international customers.

I think it is a bit unfair, that most stores have some sort of discount (or free shipping) for their U.S customers and they won’t give us an equivalent discount. I mean, even with a $10 discount I’d be inmensely happy.

Oh well, enough ranting for a day. Back to my new goodies…mI got these gorgeous Hero Arts bird stamps I’ve been wanting since last year, some patterned paper, a new inkpad and some really needed refills for old inkpads :)

So, you know me… I couldn’t resist using my new toys art supplies, right away. In need of a starting point I based this card on the Mojo Monday #22 sketch.

The bird was stamped in dark brown ink and colored with the following COPIC markers: W3, B00, Y00, Y11, Y17. Then I cut it out and adhered it to a scalloped rectangle with dimensionals (mated with vellum).

Next to it I adhered a small orange fabric flower, and my sentiment over it, it’s a 9/16″ circle. I used two sentiments from a PapertreyInk set to make it, in different colors.

I don’t think this card looks nice enough, considering the amount of time it took me. I blame it on that I’ve been having headaches the last few days, because of the meds I had to take for the spider bite. This was the last day of them, so I should be back on track by tomorrow or later. Thanks for visiting today :)

Hellooo…

…elloo, ellooo *echo*

Sorry I’ve gone missing -again- today’s excuse is that I don’t feel to well, a little stomach ache. But I’ve been working in getting a project done.

I’m working on getting an Etsy shop to sell my handmade cards :) Most of the cards I make and post on the blog don’t have a determined purpose, and they often sit around my desk for months before meeting an envelope and stamps. So, I though I might as well use them to finance supplies. It’s a vicious circle, I tell you!

I’ve been working on graphics for the store (banner, avatars, etc) and I still have to make some things, like I want to  make a custom stamp to “sign” the back of the cards, figure out the right price, shipping costs, etc.

I’ll let you know when I open it, so you can give me your feedback :)

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you soon!

Estivalia.

Woot, finally!

Yay! :)

My first Papertreyink sets arrived today! I was soo happy and over the moon :) The sentiments are really tiny but I know they’ll work incredible! It sure felt like a long time since the 25th, lol.
I’m sorry today I didn’t post any card, my brain was completely dry of ideas. But, now excuse me while I get some ink onto this stamps ♥

Estivalia.-

Happy Birthday… to me :)

2008-01-16Finally I’m 21! :) I’ve had so many wonderful gifts from my friends (one is a surprise that I hope to have ready to show you all by tomorrow or the next day). My fiancés present will be here in a few weeks and I don’t know what my parents are getting me :p

Now, I know this is not my best card (so your birthday present to me could be stand it and not stab your eyes out :P). I started with a whole different idea, but nothing seemed to work, so I ended up using the first things I had in front of me. The picture is not very good either, I have such a trouble with portrait cards. Dunno why, but they’re always so hard to photograph! (at least for me).

Well, the only thing “special” about this card is that I made some faux-stitching around it, using a sweing pin, a metallic ruler and a mouse pad. The flowers on the hair of the lady are painted with light blue/green (like the paper). I received that image as a RAK from ATCards.com so I don’t know what kind of ink was used..

The sentiment was designed on PSE (fonts: Trajan and Vivaldi), printed on white cardstock and the edges cut with the circular ruler in the 1-2-3D paper craft system and adhered with foam tape so I could wrap the black ribbon behind it.

Paper: Blue textured cardstock, white cardstock, “Far East” 8×8 stack (DCWV),
Stamps: Fuji Goddess - Imperial Cargo line (Stampington & Co.).
Inks: Soft Sky classic reinker (to watercolor), black ink
Misc: black grossgrain ribbon (Stampin Up!), White gel pen (Uni-bal signo), 1-2-3D papercraft system (EK Success).

O-M-G!

I guess by now everyone has seen the new PTI releases. I didn’t until now, because by the time is midnight on Nichole’s timezone it’s 4am here!

The new sets are awesome! (and this comes from someone who hasn’t feel really excited for any release since Little Lady). I specially want to get the sentiments one first (so I invest in only one sentiment set in english) but I’m sooo gonna get Out of a Limb, sooner or later (I mean, with the amount of bird stuff I have/plan to have, I really think I need a pretty branch).

Oh, well… I’ll be back later with a card I’m working on right now :) This week “theme” is all about birthday cards (since tomorrow it’s mine, yay) and “Use up that Far East stack, dammit” (which I’ve hoarded for nearly a year now). I just wanted to share my excitement for the new stamps… maybe enabling someone? ;)

Happy shopping stamping and see ya later!

News flash

My gifts from 2peas are here!! :D It’s a HUGE box (I don’t know why so big, the bulkiest thing is the paper trimmer). But now… I have to wait for christmas, booo!
Well, it’s better than last Christmas, when my Copic markers arrived *2 weeks* before… OK, I couldn’t hold myself so I begged to be able to open the package earlier, I guess my parents got bored of me staring at the box and the shaking. They put the tree in the living room so whenever I was watching TV it was there… staring at me, like now :P

Only two days to go tough! (til the 24th) are you feeling christmassy? Yesterday cooking didn’t went well, while trying to melt the butter the container blew up to smitherins (?) in front of me, it was such a shock we decided to let it go (oh don’t worry, I am fine, no glass hit me). Well… actually, I don’t feel like letting it go. I mean, how can I let flour, butter and sugar to win me?

I’m so making those christmas cookies this year, even if it’s the last thing I do! (so better pray I don’t blow up the kitchen)

Quick question…

Do you happen to know an internet based retailer that sells…

  • Hero Arts stamps?
  • Tsukineko inkpads?
  • and Acrylic blocks?

I’m trying to make up a wishlist for christmas/birthday but I can’t find a single store that carries all I want :/

Thanks in advance and happy weekend :)

Just wondering…

Are my e-mails getting lost? Like 2 months ago I wrote to PaperTreyInk asking about shipping fees and so far, no answer. I haven’t insisted because the set I wanted has gone down several places on my wishlist just because of that.

I also wrote to EclecticPaperie (ok, this was just yesterday but most stores reply really quick) because I was confused as they do or do not ship internationally. From their own website (and the same page):

SHIPPING INFORMATION
At this time, we are only able to accept on-line orders from customers located in the United States. Please contact us via e-mail at info@eclecticpaperie.com if you would like to place an order if you live outside the United States.” (cursive added)

And then, a few scrolls to the bottom…

“Do you ship internationally?
Eclectic Paperie currently only ships within the United States and not to any international locations.”

So, do they or not? It’d be really sucky if they don’t, because they have a lost of things I want and being able to buy them from only one place is really comfortable, not to mention the savings on shipping. Any feedback about it?

I guess I could buy and have them sent to a friend, so he/she could re-send them to me then. Extra shipping charges aside, I don’t like to bother my friends :( Plus many sites don’t allow to ship to a different billing address (once I received a very rude e-mail from a seller when I wanted to do this, like I was trying to scam them).

UPDATE: Just received an e-mail from EP and they do ship to Chile, wee! :D Thing is, they’ve been really busy and international orders can take up to 2-3 weeks. Well, that’s something I can live with.

ETA2: and they just posted to my blog too! o.O
