More birds

2008-03-29

I had this card sitting on my desk for a few days until I decided that I decided that today I’d be finishing and posting it. Again, a bird theme, I have a thing for birds :P

I wanted to use some of the amazing stuff that Charlene sent to me, the embossed cardstock and punched circles are from her. Thank you so much, Charlene, I’ll be having a great time using all the bits and pieces :)

This is really sparkly IRL, because I added Stickles to the polkadots in the background and to the leaves in the embossed cardstock (also some white dots made with a gel pen).

And last, but not least… did you notice the small thingie in the lower left corner? I made another watermark :p Since I’ve been using birds so much lately I needed a watermark with birdies too. Good thing I’m geeky enough to make mine and they turn out nice. The fonts of this one are Edwardian Script and Centaur, and the birds brush is from Darkgarden. Here, a better view :)

Edited: Fixed the link for the brush set. Thanks to Heather for pointing it :)

Stamps: “Always” set and Polka dot background (Stampin Up!), “Little lady” sentiment (PapertreyInk).
Inks: Burnt Umber Palette (Stewart Superior), Soft Sky classic ink (Stampin Up!).
Papers: Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin Up!), white cardstock and light brown textured opaline.
Misc: White gel pen (Uni-bal), Stardust Stickles (Ranger).

RAK from Lauren

RAK from LaurenYesterday I got a really unexpected package, it was a RAK from Lauren! :)

It is a little card (that is also a holder for candy, yum) and a CD case with some acrylic stamps that I loved! (and actually already used on my soon-to-be-posted project ;).

Thank you so much Lauren, I’ll be sending a RAK back as soon as I finish the card-tote thingie :)

In other, totally unrelated news, today is my fiancé’s birthday! He’s 28 now, wow a year closer to the big 3! :) (I wonder if mean freak out about being 30 as much as women, lol). He doesn’t like to celebratehis birthday (something I totally don’t understand) but I’ll drag him out for dinner later >:)

Stay tuned because I do have a project to share later. See ya later!

RAK’d

Hi everyone! Today was a happy mail day. My mailman arrived around 2:30pm and I almost stalked him because I *knew* my Eclectic Paperie order would arrive. But, oh surprise, there was another envelope and inside…

This gorgeus card and mini altered notebook :D This was a prize for a guessing contest Denise Hinton had on her blog a couple weeks ago (please follow this link as I wrote it incorrectly on the watermark, oops *blush*). I was so thrilled when I saw the card, it’s my favourite of hers! I loved SU!’s textured cardstock and will be definetely getting some of it. Also, I think it’s the first time I see a PTI creation IRL (in real life), which makes it even more special :) And guess what… I also won her blog candy! am I a lucky girl or what? ;D

Ok, moving on… as I was telling you, today I got my first order from eP :D They are small things, but I have wanted them for MONTHS, but I always put them aside because there was a new stamp, or something I wanted. LOL, I really have to get my priorities straight.  I got:

  • Versamagic DewDrop inkpads (Pixie Dust and Cloud White) I’m loving chalk inks and their matte finish.
  • Palette Hybrid inkpad (Burn Umber) great! A permanent inkpad which is not as hard as Staz-On to clean off my stamps! (I don’t what the Staz-On cleaner stuff has, but it can’t be shipped outside U.S).
  • Sakura Stardust Clear glitter pens, now I can get some bling on my cards :)

I’m so excited, I can’t wait to play with my new toys… I mean, art supplies ;)
