Bird and tree sketch challenge

2008-05-31Hi people! Today’s card is based on Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge #50… WOW, it’s been almost a year since she started making these challenges. It feels like yesterday when I participated on the first one :)

I really enjoyed working on this card, and I think it came out really nice. Base is Wild Wasabi cardstock that I distressed with an inkpad and the patterned paper is from a new line by Memory Box, also distressed (but this one with a scissor).

I have no idea what company the stamped image is, I received it from Charlene. I colored the image with the following COPIC markers:

  • Tree: G28 (Ocean Green), YG03 (Yellow Green) and E29 (Burnt Umber)
  • Bird and pears: B00 (Frosted Blue), B14 (Light Blue) and W1 (Warm Grey N°1)

I know pears aren’t blue, but I didn’t wanted it to look too much like the christmas song :P I cut the image with my Coluzzle and then I used foam tape to adhere it a white cardstock circle (and finally to a brown scalloped one).

Then I tied some ribbon and adhered a small paper flower over the knot using Glossy Accents. The pearl was originally pink, but I painted over it with a white paint marker (kinda like Sharpie).

Aaand… that’s it :) Thanks for visiting today! On a side note… I have glitter, yay!! *jumps up and down* I got a jar of glitter and a glue pen from Stampin Treasures (along with the memory box paper). Great store, I tell you :)

Paper: Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), Grove paper pack (Memory Box).
Misc: Soft Sky double stitched ribbon (Stampin’ Up!), Glossy Accents (Ranger), Burnt Umber palette (Stewart Superior), scissor, paper flower, pearl (Kaiser craft)
